New claw vacuum pumps and compressors from Busch

Dr.-Ing. K. Busch GmbH has launched a full range of ATEX-compliant claw vacuum pumps and compressors. It is now possible to use vacuum pumps and compressors that compress using Mink claw technology, in ATEX-relevant applications.

Mink vacuum pumps are approved under Directive 94/9/EG (ATEX 95) for Ex II 2(i)/2(o) G IIB3. This means that these vacuum pumps can be used for category 2 inside the vacuum pump and in the outer environment. All materials in explosion group IIB3 can be discharged using them. The temperature class is dependent on the ultimate pressure and the size of the vacuum pump. Flame traps are not required.

Mink Compressors are approved for Ex II 2(i)/2(o) G IIB3 T3. This means that these compressors can also be used for category 2 inside the compressor and in the outer environment. Gases in explosion group IIB3 and temperature class T3 can be compressed and with Mink compressors no flame traps are necessary.

Both Mink vacuum pumps and Mink compressors work under the tried and tested claw principle and compress with non-contact. The benefit of this for the operator is that no lubricant is needed and compression takes place completely oil free.

Non-contact compression causes no wear and tear and maintenance is therefore no longer required. No costs are incurred for wear parts or shutdown periods as a result of maintenance, and gone too are the costs associated with operating an oil-lubricated vacuum pump/ compressor such as oil change, new oil and disposal of used oil.

Depending on their size, Mink claw vacuum pumps can reach ultimate pressures of 60 to 150 hPa (mbar). The range can reach suction volumes from 60 to 300 m³/h.

Mink claw compressors can achieve an overpressure of up to 2 bar. Like the vacuum pumps, they are available in eight different sizes with volumetric flows of 60 to 300 m³/h.

This new generation of ATEX-compliant vacuum pumps and compressors are ideal machines for use in applications where explosive gases and gas mixtures in category 2 and corresponding explosion group are transported or compressed, such as in the production and transport of biogas.

Busch with new products for the chemical industry

Busch in Maulburg displayed their products on two own booths at Achema in Frankfurt. The international fair for the chemical industry, which ended last Friday, is the most important fair for this branch worldwide.

For the first time Busch presented their whole range of vacuum pumps that are conform to the strict security policies in the chemical industry (ATEX). The displayed pumps were ATEX-accredited.

Worldwide Busch has the broadest product range of certified vacuum pumps for the chemical engineering.

Busch was able to present several novelties, which were accepted by the visitors with interest. It was about the so-called dry vacuum pump. These are vacuum pumps that work without any lubrication or any other operating fluid.

The new products were developed in the research and development department of Maulburg and Chevenez. Due to the close cooperation of those two manufacturing plants the products are ready for the start of production.

To satisfy the expected stampede of visitors not only specialists from Maulburg were at the booth. There were also people from almost every Busch company in the world to provide advice to their national customers at the booth.

The second booth displayed products of the new English company of Busch.

At the beginning of Achema Busch took over the company Graham Vacuum Technology Ldt. and presented itself at Achema as Busch GVT for the first time.

This new Busch company displayed vacuum pumps which are used in the oil field exploration in the off-shore branch and in the petrochemistry.

But not only the chemical industry is an important market for Busch:

At the same time Busch participated at a fair for the medical industry in Paris and had their own booth at the Xylexpo in Milan, which is a fair for the wood working industry.
